Mr and Mrs cook had a 4kw system installed. They used 16 Sunrise Solartech Panels fitted around their existing solar thermal installation.
"We would like to say that we are very satisfied with our installation. We had already done some research and had a number of quotes from other companies before the visit from Fenland’s surveyor, Tim Higgins. His explanation of the pros and cons was pitched at just the right level – not too much science – and Fenland’s quote was competitive. In the end it came down to two companies and Fenland got the contract in part because they were a local company, but also because Tim Higgins was prepared to go to a lot of trouble to resolve some cosmetic and other concerns we had about positioning panels and associated equipment, without compromising the efficiency of the system.
We were left with every confidence that they had arrived at the best solution possible. The installation was as slick as it could be; scaffolding arrived and was erected on schedule and installation went ahead as promised and was completed on time, the weather notwithstanding. The site was left clean and tidy. The assistance Fenland gave us with the form filling for the Feed in Tariff (FIT) scheme was invaluable and we submitted the completed form to our energy supplier who registered us without any problems at all. The follow up visit from Tim Higgins three months later was appreciated and worthwhile as not least he noted that we hadn’t returned our insurance registration certificate.
Three months later the system is working as anticipated, and we have received our first payment of £278. As an aside we would recommend the Watson monitor which is available as an option. We feel that this is an integral part of the system because it shows you, exactly, how much energy is being produced by the system at any time, how much is being consumed, how much is being drawn from the grid and the total amount generated since installation. The data the monitor collects can also be downloaded to a PC but the best thing about the monitor is that it enables the user to make most effective use of the system in the context of running energy-hungry appliances. Without the Watson monitor it would be a matter of guesswork. We take the view that it is about as important as a speedometer on a car.
Ten out of ten for the entire process from survey to follow-up customer care. We have no hesitation in recommending Fenland Solar.
